In the ever-evolving landscape of Bollywood, where celebrity lineage often sparks immense public interest, the question of whether Nysa Devgan will carry forward her mother Kajol’s formidable acting legacy has been a recurring topic of discussion. This comes especially after Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani, recently made her debut in the film Azad, showcasing her own aspirations in the industry.
Rasha Thadani’s entry into Bollywood with Azad, where she shared screen space with Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgan, has certainly put the spotlight on the next generation of star kids. While Azad might not have been a box office behemoth, Rasha’s performance, particularly her dance in the song ‘Uyi Amma’, garnered attention and indicated a promising start. This naturally led many to wonder if Nysa Devgan, another prominent star kid and the daughter of two acting powerhouses, Kajol and Ajay Devgn, would also soon grace the silver screen.
However, recent statements from Kajol herself indicate that, for now, Nysa has no immediate plans to pursue acting. During promotions for her upcoming horror film Maa, Kajol was directly asked about Nysa following in her footsteps, similar to Rasha and Raveena. Kajol’s response was clear: “No, I don’t think she will. She is not interested in movies. I love all the kids in my family and I would want them to do exactly what gives them happiness and whatever they feel they’ll succeed in.” Ajay Devgn has also echoed this sentiment, confirming that Nysa is currently focused on her studies abroad, specifically at the Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland, and has not shown interest in a film career at present.
This revelation might come as a surprise to some, given Nysa’s frequent appearances in the media and her significant social media presence. The public has often speculated about her potential Bollywood debut, fueled by her inherent connection to one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated acting families. Kajol, a recipient of numerous accolades including five Filmfare Awards for Best Actress and the Padma Shri, has carved a unique niche for herself with a career spanning over three decades, delivering iconic performances in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and Fanaa. Her ability to balance a successful career with her personal life has also been a hallmark of her journey.
While the desire for Nysa to step into the acting world might be strong among fans, it appears she is charting her own course. The entertainment industry is indeed witnessing a new wave of star kids making their mark, with names like Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan also making headlines. However, Nysa Devgan seems to be taking a different path, prioritizing her education and personal interests.
It remains to be seen if Nysa Devgan’s aspirations will evolve in the future. As her parents have stated, children’s interests can change. For now, while the acting legacy of Kajol is undeniably profound, it seems Nysa is not currently poised to directly carry it forward in the same professional capacity as her mother. The focus, for the time being, is on her personal growth and studies, away from the glitz and glamour of Bollywood sets.
