New Delhi, September 11, 2025: BGMI’s has been ushered in with the official rollout of the 4.0 update by developer Krafton. The highly anticipated update has been released to players, introducing a “Spooky Soiree” theme along with a variety of new gameplay mechanics, weapons, and performance enhancements that are expected to transform the player experience.
The centerpiece of this update is the new themed mode, which features a mysterious, haunted mansion known as Wraithmoor Mansion. Within this eerie location, supernatural elements have been added, including a magic mirror that can be activated to reveal hidden treasures and ghosts. A unique ghost companion, named “Ghostie,” has also been introduced to the game. This spectral ally comes with an array of active and passive skills that can be utilized by players to gain an edge in combat, such as flying with a “Floating Balloon” or deploying a “Guardian Shield.”

Furthermore, players who are eliminated will not be completely out of the fight. They will be given an opportunity to continue playing as a “Prankster Ghost,” allowing them to assist their teammates with special abilities like high-speed bombs and player tagging. These ghostly skills, however, will be unlocked gradually over the coming weeks, providing players with a continuous stream of new content to discover.
The arsenal of weapons has also been expanded with the addition of the Mortar, a high-damage explosive weapon that can be used for both close and long-range targeting. This new weapon is expected to add a layer of tactical depth to encounters. Other adjustments have been made to existing weapons, including revamped stocks and foregrips, which are designed to provide more responsive shooting mechanics.
Beyond the new content, significant performance optimizations have been implemented in the 4.0 update. Improvements have been made to reduce lag and improve FPS stability, and a “Super Smooth” graphics option has been made available for all devices. It is reported that this setting can lead to a 50% reduction in lag and a 10% decrease in CPU/GPU load. The overall download size has also been reduced, and download speeds have been increased, ensuring that the update can be accessed more quickly and efficiently by all players. The update is being rolled out in phases across various platforms, with Android users receiving it first, followed by iOS users.
