This week’s Bigg Boss 19 “Weekend Ka Vaar,” hosted by Salman Khan, was a high-octane blend of Bollywood glamour, hilarious stand-up comedy, and a truly emotional elimination, culminating in the shocking exit of popular digital creator Awez Darbar.
The episode turned into a star-studded affair with the cast of the upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari—Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf—visiting the house to promote their film.
The stars immediately raised the entertainment quotient, dancing with host Salman Khan on their hit track “Panwadi” before engaging with the contestants. The interaction wasn’t just fun and games; it included a highly amusing Shayari Showdown where the housemates were divided into teams and challenged to roast each other using witty couplets. Team Sunny, led by Awez Darbar, ultimately clinched the victory in this unique poetry battleground.
Varun and Janhvi also played a crucial role in the eviction process, announcing that contestants Gaurav Khanna and Mridul Tiwari were safe from elimination, keeping the remaining nominated housemates on the edge of their seats.
Adding a much-needed dose of reality and humour, stand-up comedian Harsh Gujral and former Bigg Boss OTT contestant Abhishek Malhan graced the stage. Known for his sharp wit, Gujral spared no one, launching into a hilarious roast of the housemates.
The comic duo delivered candid feedback wrapped in playful insults, with contestant Tanya Mittal becoming a primary target over her past claims and conversations in the house. While the jibes were intended to be funny, they left Tanya visibly unsettled and emotional, underscoring the pressure cooker environment of the show. Both Malhan and Khan later stepped in, assuring her that handling roasts with grace is part of public life, but the moment highlighted the deep impact of external criticism on the contestants.
Despite the fun and glamour, the biggest twist of the weekend came with the shocking elimination. Social media sensation Awez Darbar, who had entered the house with a massive fan following and even proposed to his girlfriend Nagma Mirajkar on the show (who was evicted two weeks prior), was shown the door.
Awez, who was repeatedly advised by Salman Khan and his sister-in-law, former Bigg Boss winner Gauahar Khan, to speak up and take a stand for himself, was ultimately evicted for receiving the least number of audience votes against fellow nominated contestants Pranit More and Ashnoor Kaur. The elimination was an emotional blow, especially for his close friends Abhishek Bajaj and Pranit More, who were seen breaking down in tears, lamenting that Awez failed to fully activate his game despite their constant encouragement.
Awez Darbar’s exit marks a significant change in the house dynamics, proving once again that outside popularity and high-profile endorsements are no guarantee for survival in the unpredictable world of Bigg Boss.
