New Delhi, November 27, 2025: The wait is almost over for thousands of banking aspirants! The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) is expected to release the results for the Probationary Officer (PO) Mains Examination 2025 shortly on its official website, ibps.in. Candidates who appeared for the Mains exam, which was held on October 12, 2025, are advised to keep their login credentials ready and check the official portal frequently for the latest updates.

This Mains examination, conducted for the recruitment of 5,208 Probationary Officers/Management Trainees (CRP PO/MT-XV) in 11 participating Public Sector Banks, is the crucial second stage in the three-part selection process.

How to Check Your IBPS PO Mains Result 2025

Once announced, candidates can easily access their results by following these simple steps:

  • Go to the official IBPS website: ibps.in.
  • Click on the link for “Click here to View Your Online Mains Exam Result for CRP PO/MT-XV” (or similar wording) on the homepage.

  • Enter the security code (Captcha) and click the Login or Submit button.

A few days after the result announcement, the detailed scorecard (showing sectional and overall marks) and the official cut-off marks will also be released on the website.

What Happens After Qualifying the Mains? The Interview Stage

Qualifying for the Mains examination is a significant achievement, as it is the major written test. Candidates who meet the required cut-off marks will be shortlisted for the final stage of the selection process: the Personal Interview (or Personality Test).

This interview round is expected to take place in December 2025 / January 2026.

The Final Stage: Personal Interview

The interview holds a significant weightage in the final selection, typically contributing 20% of the total score (the Mains exam contributes the remaining 80%). It is designed to assess the candidate’s communication skills, personality, and aptitude for the Probationary Officer role.

Key Areas of Assessment:

  • Banking & Financial Awareness: In-depth knowledge of banking terms, RBI policies, current economic news, and financial products.
  • Current Affairs: Awareness of recent national and international events.
  • General Knowledge: Basic understanding of the country’s political, social, and economic landscape.
  • Personality and Communication: Confidence, clarity of thought, decision-making ability, and overall demeanor.

Candidates should immediately start preparing by revising banking awareness topics and staying updated on Current Affairs.

Documents and Final Selection

Shortlisted candidates will be required to carry all necessary original documents for verification during the interview. The combined scores from the Mains Examination and the Interview will determine the final merit list and the eventual Provisional Allotment to one of the participating public sector banks.

Aspirants are strongly advised to focus completely on their interview preparation and constantly check the official IBPS website for the release of the Interview Call Letters and further instructions.
