New Delhi, March 2, 2026: – In a significant move toward gender parity and digital social security, President Droupadi Murmu officially launched four flagship women’s welfare schemes of the Delhi Government today, March 2, 2026. The high-profile event, titled “Sashakt Nari, Samriddh Delhi” (Empowered Women, Prosperous Delhi), took place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in the presence of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Addressing a massive gathering of women and students, President Murmu emphasized that the true measure of a nation’s progress lies in the independence of its women. “When women are given the tools to make their own decisions—whether through mobility, education, or financial security—they change the trajectory of the entire nation,” the President remarked.
The newly launched schemes focus on integrating technology with social welfare to ensure transparency and ease of access.
| Scheme Name | Core Objective | Key Benefit |
| Saheli Pink Smart Card | Integrated Digital Mobility | Free bus travel via NCMC; touch-free access to Metro/RRTS. |
| Delhi Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana | Long-term Financial Security | Phased deposits of ₹56,000; maturity over ₹1 Lakh at age 21. |
| Free LPG Cylinder Scheme | Domestic Relief | Two free cylinders annually (Holi & Diwali) via DBT. |
| Meri Punji, Mera Adhikaar | Financial Rights | Direct transfer of pending dues and educational incentives. |
Moving away from traditional paper tickets, the Saheli Pink Card is part of the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) framework. It offers Delhi’s women and transgender residents free travel on DTC buses while doubling as a digital wallet for the Delhi Metro and Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS).
This scheme is a revamped and expanded version of the previous ‘Ladli’ initiative. Designed to curb school dropouts and encourage higher education, the government will deposit ₹56,000 in milestones linked to the girl child’s education. With accumulated interest, the amount is projected to exceed ₹1,00,000 by the time she turns 21.
To ease the burden of inflation on households, the government will provide two free LPG cylinders every year to approximately 15.5 lakh ration card-holding families. The benefit will be disbursed via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) during the festive seasons of Holi and Diwali.
This initiative ensures that no woman is left behind due to administrative delays. On its launch day, over ₹100 crore was directly transferred to the bank accounts of more than 40,000 girl beneficiaries, clearing pending dues and ensuring financial rights are delivered with a single click.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta described the launch as the beginning of a “new era.” By linking every scheme to Aadhaar and mobile-based verification, the government aims to eliminate middlemen and ensure that 100% of the benefits reach the intended recipients.
The President concluded her speech by reminding the audience that while government schemes provide the foundation, it is the collective responsibility of society to foster an environment where every woman feels safe and empowered to pursue her dreams.
