New Delhi, March 3, 2026: Following their high-profile wedding in Udaipur, South Indian superstars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna have touched hearts by turning their personal milestone into a mission for social good. During a visit to Vijay’s ancestral village, the couple officially announced a new scholarship program aimed at supporting Class IX and X students in the Achampet division of Telangana.
The initiative, launched under the Deverakonda Charitable Trust, reflects the couple’s commitment to giving back to the community that has long supported them.
The scholarship program is designed to bridge the financial gap for underprivileged students during their most critical school years. By targeting students in Classes 9 and 10, the initiative aims to reduce dropout rates and encourage teenagers to focus on their board examinations without the burden of financial stress.
The announcement took place on March 2, 2026, as the newlyweds visited Vijay’s hometown, Thummanpet, to perform traditional post-wedding rituals, including the Satyanarayana Swamy Vratam and a housewarming ceremony (Grihapravesham) for their new residence in the village.
Addressing a massive crowd of well-wishers in Telugu, Vijay expressed his deep connection to his roots.
“I want to see the children of this soil excel. Education is the greatest tool we can give them,” the actor shared, while Rashmika stood by his side, visibly moved by the enthusiastic response from the villagers.
The event was a family affair, with Vijay’s mother, Madhavi Deverakonda, and his brother, Anand Deverakonda, also in attendance. Witnesses noted that Vijay’s mother was moved to tears as the crowd cheered for the couple’s philanthropic gesture.
Vijay and Rashmika, affectionately dubbed “VIROSH” by their fans, tied the knot on February 26, 2026, in a breathtaking ceremony in Udaipur. The wedding was a beautiful blend of cultures, featuring both Telugu Hindu rituals and a traditional Kodava ceremony to honor Rashmika’s Coorgi heritage.
The couple is scheduled to host a grand wedding reception in Hyderabad on March 4, 2026. Due to the immense popularity of the stars, the event has been designated as “strictly invite-only” following security advice from the local police.
On the professional front, the duo will soon be seen together on the big screen in the upcoming period drama Ranabaali, marking their third collaboration after the massive hits Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.
