Marvel Rivals Season 7: White Fox Arrives as “Jeffnado” Departs

New Delhi, March 18, 2026: The meta of Marvel Rivals is about to undergo a massive transformation as Season 7: The Hunt Is On officially launches on March 20, 2026. NetEase Games has confirmed a sweeping overhaul of the game’s signature Team-Up system, retiring some of the most iconic (and controversial) synergies to make room for fresh tactical combinations.

From the arrival of the highly anticipated Strategist White Fox to a global nerf on Ultimate abilities, here is everything you need to know about the Season 7 update.

Out with the Old: Jeffnado and Duality Dance Retired

In a move to keep the gameplay loop fresh and prevent “ability bloat,” NetEase is rotating out two of the game’s most recognizable Team-Up abilities.

1. The End of “Jeffnado”

The fan-favorite (and often chaotic) Jeffnado—the synergy between Jeff the Land Shark and Storm—is being officially retired. This combination allowed Storm to create a swirling vortex that Jeff could interact with, often leading to unpredictable and powerful area-of-effect plays. With its removal, Storm loses her 5% damage boost and the “Shark Surge” ability, leaving her kit open for a new partnership.

2. Duality Dance Steps Away

The healing-focused Duality Dance between Adam Warlock and Luna Snow is also exiting the rotation.

• Adam Warlock loses his 15% healing bonus and the anchor role for this synergy.
• Luna Snow loses the “Light & Shadow Karma” ability. This change effectively separates two of the game’s strongest Strategists, forcing players to find new ways to maximize their sustain.

In with the New: The Kumiho and the Cosmic Cyclone

As old doors close, new ones open with the debut of White Fox and a reimagined role for Storm.

Blessing of the Kumiho (White Fox + Luna Snow)

The headline addition for Season 7 is the partnership between the new hero, White Fox, and the Kpop superstar, Luna Snow. This Team-Up draws directly from their shared history in Marvel Comics as members of South Korea’s Tiger Division.

• The Mechanic: White Fox acts as the anchor. When paired, Luna Snow gains a new ability to launch a Spirit Fox in a straight line.
• The Effect: The Spirit Fox heals any allies it passes through while damaging and charming enemies, forcing them to walk helplessly toward Luna Snow for a brief moment. After the ability ends, Luna Snow receives a significant movement speed boost.

Cosmic Cyclone (Storm + Adam Warlock)

With Jeff the Land Shark out of the picture, Storm finds a new ally in the Golden Gladiator.

• The Mechanic: Storm serves as the anchor, channeling elemental energy into Adam Warlock.
• The Effect: When Adam Warlock uses his Soaring Surge (flight) ability, he now leaves behind a charged energy trail. Allies who fly or walk through this trail gain increased movement speed and health regeneration, turning Adam into a mobile “healing path” for his team.

Global Meta Shift: The “Ultimate” Nerf

Beyond Team-Ups, Season 7 introduces a game-wide change that will affect every single match: a roughly 20% reduction in Ultimate energy gain.

NetEase noted that “Ultimate spam” had become a crutch in high-level play. To counter this, they have tuned energy conversion rates:

• Vanguards & Duelists: Damage-to-energy conversion is dropping from 90% to 70%.
• Strategists: Healing/Damage-to-energy conversion is dropping from 90% to 75%.

This change ensures that “Pressing Q” is no longer the only way to win a team fight, placing a higher premium on mechanical skill and basic ability management.

New Content & Map Updates

Season 7 isn’t just about balance; it’s about expansion.

• New Map: Lower Manhattan (a Convergence map) joins the rotation, featuring a futuristic 2099 aesthetic.
• New Hero: While White Fox arrives at the launch of 7.0, the master thief Black Cat is slated to join the roster in the mid-season update (Season 7.5) on April 17.
• Album System: A new in-game photography mode allows players to capture and save cinematic moments from their battles.
