New Delhi, March 18, 2026: BMW Group India has officially raised the bar for performance enthusiasts by launching the highly anticipated BMW M2 CS at an ex-showroom price of ₹1.66 crore. Arriving as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) unit, this hardcore, limited-run iteration of the second-generation M2 is the first of its kind to grace Indian shores, marking it as a significant milestone for the ‘M’ division in the country.
The heart of the M2 CS is a heavily reworked 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline-six S58 engine. In this CS (Competition Sport) avatar, the powerplant has been tuned to deliver a staggering 530 hp and 650 Nm of peak torque—a jump of 50 hp over the standard M2.
To complement the power surge, BMW has shaved off approximately 30 kg compared to the standard model. This weight reduction is achieved through the extensive use of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) on the roof, bonnet, front splitter, rear diffuser, and the iconic “ducktail” rear spoiler.
The M2 CS isn’t just about straight-line speed; it is engineered for the racetrack. It recently proved its mettle by clocking a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 7 minutes 25.5 seconds, making it the fastest compact car on the legendary circuit.

Inside, the M2 CS balances luxury with a stripped-back motorsport feel. The cabin features:
Offered in four striking shades—Brooklyn Grey, Portimao Blue, Black Sapphire, and Individual Velvet Blue—the M2 CS is aimed at a niche segment of collectors and driving purists. Given its CBU status and limited global production, only a handful of units are expected to be allocated for the Indian market.
At ₹1.66 crore, the M2 CS commands a significant premium of roughly ₹64 lakh over the standard M2, positioning it as a dedicated “driver’s machine” that bridges the gap between a road car and a professional racing tool.
