New Delhi, April 3, 2026: Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially raised the bar in the premium scooter segment with the launch of the 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street 125. Starting at an aggressive price point of Rs 1.02 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new-generation maxi-scooter arrives with a host of cosmetic, functional, and mechanical updates designed to maintain its stronghold in the Indian market.

Since its debut in 2018, the Burgman Street has been a favorite for those seeking a “maxi” aesthetic combined with everyday practicality. The 2026 model builds on this legacy, introducing a more refined platform, enhanced technology, and significantly improved utility.

Design and Styling: A Sharper Modern Look

While the iconic silhouette remains intact, the 2026 Burgman Street adopts a “Sleek Modern” design philosophy. The front fascia now features a redesigned split-lens LED headlight setup with integrated daytime running lights (DRLs), giving it a more aggressive and premium road presence.

Additional styling updates include:

  • New LED Tail-lamp: A revised rear lighting signature for better visibility.
  • Angular Exhaust: A boxier, more stylish upswept muffler with a retuned exhaust note.
  • Fresh Colors: The palette now includes premium options such as Pearl Grace White, Metallic Royal Bronze, Mat Stellar Blue, and Pearl Mat Shadow Green.

Key Features: Tech-Forward Upgrades

The standout addition to the 2026 lineup is the introduction of a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster on the top-spec variant. This display supports smartphone connectivity via the Suzuki Ride Connect app, offering turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, and WhatsApp notifications.

Other notable feature upgrades include:

  • Keyless Ignition: A multifunction key fob allows riders to operate the ignition, steering lock, and seat opening remotely (available on the TFT variant).
  • External Fuel Filler: Repositioned under the tail-lamp for added convenience, eliminating the need to open the seat at fuel stations.
  • Enhanced Storage: The under-seat storage has been expanded to 24.6 litres (up from 21.5 litres), now capable of accommodating a full-face helmet.
  • Practicality: The scooter retains its twin front cubby holes and a built-in USB charging port for mobile devices.

Engine and Performance: Refined Efficiency

Under the hood—or rather, the seat—the 2026 Burgman Street is powered by a 124cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine featuring Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology. While the power figures remain familiar, Suzuki has retuned the CVT gearbox to improve mid-range acceleration.

FeatureSpecification
Engine Type124cc, 4-stroke, 1-cylinder, Air-cooled
Max Power8.4 HP @ 6,500 rpm
Max Torque10.2 Nm @ 5,250 rpm
TransmissionCVT (Automatic)
Fuel Tank5.5 Litres

The scooter also benefits from a new starter clutch for quieter “Silent Start” operations and a revised platform shared with the latest Suzuki Access, which is 500g lighter and 25% stiffer.

Chassis and Safety

In a significant mechanical shift, the 2026 model now rides on 12-inch wheels at both ends, replacing the previous 10-inch rear wheel setup. This change is expected to improve high-speed stability and ride quality over uneven surfaces.

Braking is handled by a front disc and rear drum setup, supported by Suzuki’s Combined Braking System (CBS). While many enthusiasts hoped for the inclusion of ABS, Suzuki has opted to keep the price competitive by sticking with CBS for this refresh.

Pricing and Variants

The 2026 Suzuki Burgman Street is available in two primary new variants:

  • Standard (Ride Connect Edition): Rs 1,01,944
  • Ride Connect TFT Edition: Rs 1,13,220 (Prices are ex-showroom, Delhi)

The previous Burgman Street EX variant also remains on sale at Rs 1.08 lakh for those who prefer the existing setup. With these updates, Suzuki continues to offer one of the most comfortable and feature-rich 125cc scooters in India, directly rivaling the TVS NTORQ 125, Honda Activa 125, and Aprilia SR 125.
