Jamia Millia Islamia launches new entrepreneurship program for students

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI): The Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University, has established an Entrepreneurship E-Cell. Their main goal is to provide information about the intricacies of the entrepreneurship ecosystem among the interested students.

The university has set up this cell for helping the learners become successful entrepreneurs. The members of the board are planning to conduct workshops, multiple sessions, guest lectures by renowned and accurately experienced people from the world of entrepreneurship and startups.

JMI E-Cell

The new E-Cell also helps and provides all kinds of support to the alumni and current university students so that they can fulfil their dreams of becoming entrepreneurs to some extent. This innovative idea will help their ambition to reach the state of incubation. And only then a complete matured startup from the very basic state of an idea.

The university added to its official statement that the Cell is building an investors pool and contacting multiple mentors and experts from the industry to provide resource allocation to the interested students with the help of the CIE, JMI.

Some of the workshops will be organised within this E-Cell related to the topic of patents, intellectual property rights, ideation, funding pitch making, business canvas model and design. The Cell will also organise several field trips to incubation centres, specific startups and other institutions related to the entrepreneurship set-up.

JMI builds Club and Teams under the E-Cell

Related to the specific areas of entrepreneurship many clubs have been developed for this Cell. These are-

  • Animation and Web Development Club
  • Robotics Club
  • Biotech Club
  • Programming Club
  • Finance Club
  • Research Club
  • Entrepreneurship Club

Several teams have also been established for supervising the work of the above-mentioned clubs. The teams are-

  • Social Media Team
  • Events Planning Team
  • Graphic Designing Team
  • Outreach and Corporate Relations Team

There is also a core team to supervise the entire work of this Cell. The team consists of President Ayush Kumar, Vice President Madiha Siddiqui and the Heads of all the clubs.

The CIE, JMI has created this E-Cell not just to promote entrepreneurship for the learners but also among the community around the campus. In near future, the university is planning to create more such development programmes and short-term courses to help the students.

In a discussion with film critic Sucharita Tyagi on her YouTube channel, Shakun said, “I had an e-mail where the subject was B****d (a Hindi cuss word). Then the mail just said, ‘B****d picture banani Nahi aati hai to kyun banata hai? Kuch aur kar leta (If you don’t know how to make a film, why do you? Do something else).”

The filmmaker added that he has also got some positive responses. He told, “Then, I had an email from a psychologist in Brisbane who said the psychology of the characters added up to him. I feel cognitive dissonance. I have made peace with two completely opposing thoughts in my mind. I don’t know how it happened. But, I think forget about the movie, it’s growth in me to have accepted the polarisation. I think I have grown.”

Besides the criticism, many film lovers also appreciated the film for a mature take on adult, non-judgemental relationships and infidelity in the film. They give their feedback on social media. One fan sarcastically said on Facebook that till now Indians are not mature to watch this movie.

After the success of Gehraiyaan, Deepika revealed her parents’ reaction. The actress disclosed that her parents felt extremely proud after watching her in Gehraiyaan. Deepika said, “They are extremely proud. And of course, they do find it a little difficult to disassociate me from the actor, so they usually take time. It does affect them. They’re my family, my parents. Of course, it affects them, but they were extremely appreciative and proud of my performance.”

Lalu Prasad Yadav Case: On Monday in the fifth fodder scam case about to illegal withdrawal of money from the Doranda treasury, CBI court in Rachi sentenced the former chief minister of Bihar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav to five years of imprisonment. As per the lawyers he has also been fined Rs 60 lakh.

For the illegal withdrawal of Rs 139.35 crore from the Doranda treasury of Ranchi in 1995-96 special judge SK Sashi convicted Lalu Prasad Yadav and 74 others and acquitted 24 accused on 15th February.

Due to some health issues former minister 73 years old, Lalu Prasad is now admitted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in the jail hospital of Rachi. As he has already spent three and half years in jail he may be released very soon.

In this case, the court had already fined 34 accused of Rs 20,000 to Rs 2 lakh and awarded three years of maximum punishment. On Monday including Lalu Prasad, the 41 accused was awarded Monday through video conference. The lawyers said that the maximum fine was Rs 2 crore.

Defence lawyer Anant Kumar Vij said, “The judge pronounced five years of jail term, of which he has already undergone three years and nineteen days. Since he has already undergone half of the jail term, we will file a petition in the high court to grant him bail.”

In the previous four cases, Lalu Prasad had already been convicted. One more case is pending before CBI Patna. It is on the illegal withdrawal of money from the Banka-Bhagalpur treasury.

On September 26, 2005, the charge was framed in this case. The statements of accused persons were recorded on January 16, 2020, and the conviction happened on February 15, 2022.

“I fight those who create divides. They can’t defeat us so they try to trap us in conspiracies. I have neither been afraid nor bent before anyone. I will keep fighting. The coward will never understand the struggles of a fighter,” Lalu Yadav tweeted the lines in Hindi.

“We had the mandate to rule in the 2020 Bihar election but they (BJP and Nitish Kumar) made a backdoor entry and took power. The same person is being harassed over and over,” said Lalu Yadav’s son and RJD MLA Tejashwi Yadav.

India’s first bamboo village has developed in Tripura

Tripura: The first bamboo park has been set up in India to boost the industries in the Northeast region. After this, it’s kind of a multi-purpose ‘bashgram’ (bamboo village) has established in Tripura to boost the eco-tourism in the region. The statistics and facts said that this initiative will attract all kinds of nature-lovers, yoga enthusiasts and tourists. It will help to increase the tourism business in Tripura all over the northern part.

As per the reports, the bamboo village has been made up at Katlamara in Western Tripura. It is just along the India-Bangladesh border. Bamboo architect-cum-expert Manna Roy has been developed around 9 acres of land for setting up the village. It is known that the village has already managed to create attraction between the tourists including foreigners and environmentalists, from across the country.

The bamboo village is made up of a playground, several ponds with sufficient flora and fauna, a yoga centre, bamboo cottages, bamboo bridges and pathways. Besides, the tourists also get various eco-friendly utilities and facilities in this man-made village.

Different types of natural plants, vegetation, flowers, herbal, shrubs and as well as more than 14 species of bamboo make the new tourist spot in India truly a natural abode. Referring to this Manna Roy said that a museum would also soon be set up in ‘bashgram’. All types of endangered, obsolete, old and new materials made of bamboo would be shown in the museum.

He also added the idea of making the bamboo village properly and effectively using local and rural resources. They would not hamper nature creating this. Mr. Roy said that they have so far invested INR 60 lakh to develop the village. They didn’t take a single rupee from the government or bank. It is completely their establishment for their tourism development.

Using the locally available resources the main objective is to turn the bamboo village or ‘bashgram’ into a world-class medical-cum-eco tourism hub. They want to develop the village as an example of sustainable development worldwide.

The person who needs to change the weather for developing the health condition can easily come to this zero polluted place and spend the days in an affordable expenditure.

IGNOU launches new virtual MBA programme approved by AICTE

New Delhi: Recently the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched a new online Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme. The virtual programme is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and IGNOU’s School of Management Studies will be offered the online MBA. From January 2022 towards willing candidates can enrol their name in the course.

Nageshwar Rao, the vice-chancellor of IGNOU has launched the MBA programme on 11th January 2022. The programme coordinators are Prof. Rajeev Kumar Shukla and Dr. Venkataiah Chittipaka, SOMS, IGNOU. It is said that the MBA programme has been designed to reach the masses and provide inclusive quality education.

In a statement from IGNOU, it is said, “The online MBA programme will include self-study material in digital form, asynchronous and synchronous counselling, online live learning sessions, and pre-recorded video lectures. Sessions will also be provided to online students through GyanDarshan, mobile app, social media platforms, Gyanvani, together with e-mail support from IGNOU.”

The period of the course is 2 years with four semesters. But the students get a maximum of 4 years for completing this. It includes 28 courses and has 116 credits as weightage. Indian as well as foreign students can also join in the course.

Online MBA course: Fees, eligibility

Candidates from Indian territory and South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries need to spend Rs 14,000 for semesters 1,2 and 4 and for semester 3 it is Rs 16,000.
