Huawei has officially announced its latest flagship laptop, the Huawei MateBook Pro, making headlines with its advanced display technology and the integration of HarmonyOS 5. This launch marks a significant step for Huawei in expanding its proprietary operating system into the PC market, offering consumers a fresh alternative.

The standout feature of the new MateBook Pro is its mesmerizing 14.2-inch OLED display. Boasting a stunning 3.1K (3120 x 2080) resolution and a silky-smooth 120Hz refresh rate, this “Cloud Clear Soft Light” screen promises an incredibly immersive visual experience. Huawei highlights the display’s ability to diffuse reflection, significantly reducing glare and enhancing viewing comfort, even in bright environments. With a peak brightness of 1000 nits and an impressive 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, colors are expected to be vibrant and blacks truly deep. The display also covers wide color gamuts (Adobe RGB / P3 / sRGB) with an average ΔE<1 for exceptional color accuracy, making it ideal for creative professionals.

Under the hood, the MateBook Pro runs on Huawei’s self-developed HarmonyOS 5, marking a pivotal moment as Huawei pushes its ecosystem beyond smartphones and tablets. HarmonyOS 5 is designed to offer a seamless and integrated experience across Huawei’s devices, emphasizing AI features and enhanced privacy. The operating system includes a built-in AI assistant, Celia, capable of tasks like document summarization, translation across 21 languages, and even generating reports. Users can expect fluid multitasking with customizable window layouts and a responsive interface powered by the Ark graphics engine. Privacy is a key focus, with the Star Shield security architecture ensuring rigorous checks for applications and comprehensive system-level protection.

Weighing in at just 970 grams and measuring 310 x 220 x 13.5mm, the MateBook Pro is crafted with a micro-velvet textured aluminum body, making it exceptionally thin and light. It features Huawei’s “Falcon body architecture” for enhanced durability and portability. For cooling, the laptop debuts an innovative foam copper VC technology, which is claimed to increase heat dissipation fivefold, supporting a sustained 40W performance and reducing temperatures by up to 10°C during intensive use.

Other notable specifications include a 70Wh battery, offering up to 10.2 hours of typical usage and significantly improved video playback time. It supports 140W SuperCharge for rapid power-ups and even 66W reverse SuperCharge to juice up other devices. Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, Nearlink technology for quick wireless pairing with peripherals, and USB-C ports (including Thunderbolt 4). The laptop also features a backlit keyboard with 1.8mm key travel, a large touchpad with Huawei Free Touch, a fingerprint power button, a 1080p HD camera, and a six-speaker Yuezhang audio system complemented by four microphones for clear audio.

The Huawei MateBook Pro is available in various configurations, with RAM options of 24GB or 32GB and storage ranging from 512GB to 2TB NVMe PCIe SSDs. It comes in elegant color options: Clear Blue, White, and Black.

Pre-orders for the Huawei MateBook Pro have already begun in China, with official sales slated to start on June 6, 2025. Pricing for the different configurations is as follows:
