In a monumental surge of enthusiasm for holistic well-being, the Ministry of Ayush has announced that registrations for the “Yoga Sangam” portal, the flagship event for the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, have exceeded a staggering 4 lakh. This unprecedented level of participation underscores India’s unwavering commitment to promoting traditional health practices globally and reinforces its position as a beacon for wellness.

The “Yoga Sangam” initiative aims to facilitate a synchronized, nationwide yoga demonstration on June 21, 2025, the official International Day of Yoga. Millions of individuals, organizations, and communities across the country are gearing up to roll out their mats in unison, creating a powerful spectacle of collective health and harmony. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, is expected to lead a massive gathering of over 5 lakh yoga enthusiasts in Visakhapatnam, marking a highlight of this grand celebration.

The widespread adoption of the Yoga Sangam portal reflects the tremendous resonance of this year’s IDY theme: “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.” This theme emphasizes the intrinsic connection between individual well-being, community health, and global environmental sustainability, aligning the ancient practice of yoga with contemporary global challenges.

The Ministry of Ayush has highlighted that this marks a historic milestone, with no single event in India ever garnering such assured participation on this extraordinary scale. The registrations span across various sectors, from prestigious educational institutions like IITs and IIMs to grassroots NGOs, leading corporate houses, and government organizations, all embracing the call to action.

Leading the charge in registrations are states like Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh, both registering an impressive 1,38,033 organizations each, followed closely by Uttar Pradesh with 1,01,767. Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and Himachal Pradesh have also shown significant participation, contributing to the nation’s collective enthusiasm for yoga.

The Yoga Sangam portal (yoga.ayush.gov.in/yoga-sangam) has proven to be the central hub for this nationwide coordination. It provides a seamless platform for groups and organizations to register their events, access resources, and receive official Certificates of Appreciation after uploading their event details post the June 21st demonstration. The Ministry encourages all interested individuals and groups to visit the portal and register, becoming a part of this transformative movement.

The 11th International Day of Yoga promises to be a truly global event, with celebrations extending from the snow-capped peaks of Ladakh to the sunlit beaches of Kerala, and from bustling metropolitan areas to tranquil rural settings. This widespread participation, facilitated by the user-friendly Yoga Sangam portal, is a testament to the growing awareness and acceptance of yoga as a powerful tool for promoting physical, mental, and spiritual well-being across all sections of society. The Ministry of Ayush invites everyone to unite through yoga for a healthier, more harmonious, and better tomorrow.
