In response, the Patriots were undeterred and began their chase with great intent. The game was taken right down to the wire, with four runs needed from the final delivery to secure victory for the Patriots.

The final over was bowled by David Wiese, who had already picked up two crucial wickets. A tense finish was provided when Bidaisee, facing the last ball, was required to hit a boundary to win the game. A catch was pulled off by Tim David at long-off, who held his nerve under immense pressure to seal the victory for the Kings by just three runs.

The win has been a huge boost for the Kings, who were coming off a no-result in their previous match due to rain. The result moves them to the top of the points table on net run rate, showcasing their potential in this tournament. Roston Chase was deservedly named Player of the Match for his all-round performance, which also included two wickets for 27 runs with the ball.
