Ms. Verma’s interview also addressed the viral t-shirt incident. She stated that while she had been prepared for public blame, she had been taken aback by her ex-husband’s public gesture. She was quoted as saying, “Are bhai, WhatsApp kar deta. T-shirt kyu pehna hai?” (He could have just messaged on WhatsApp. Why wear the t-shirt?). This comment has been viewed by many as a clear message that she prefers to handle personal matters with maturity and dignity, away from the public eye.

The divorce between Ms. Verma and Mr. Chahal was finalized earlier this year, and while both parties have attempted to move on, their public remarks continue to be followed closely.
