Tiger Shroff‘s highly-anticipated action spectacle, “Baaghi 4,” has concluded its opening weekend at the box office with a total collection exceeding the ₹30 crore mark. However, despite this milestone, the film’s performance has been met with mixed reactions from both critics and audiences, and it has fallen short of the opening weekend collections of the previous installments in the successful “Baaghi” franchise.

According to early estimates from trade analysts, “Baaghi 4” minted approximately ₹10 crore on its first Sunday, bringing its three-day domestic net collection to around ₹31.25 crore. This follows an opening day collection of ₹12 crore on Friday, and a subsequent dip on Saturday where the film earned ₹9.25 crore. The decline on Saturday was attributed in part to the Ganesh Visarjan festivities in several parts of the country, and despite a “Buy One Get One” ticket offer on Friday and a 50% discount on tickets on Saturday and Sunday, the film was unable to gain significant momentum.

While crossing the ₹30 crore mark is a respectable achievement, “Baaghi 4” is currently the weakest opening weekend performer in the franchise. The previous films have set a high benchmark, with “Baaghi 2” collecting a massive ₹73.1 crore in its first three days, and “Baaghi 3” earning ₹53.83 crore over the same period. The original “Baaghi” also had a stronger opening weekend with a collection of ₹38.5 crore.

Several factors are being cited for the film’s lukewarm reception. The action-packed movie received an “A” certificate, which may have limited its appeal to Tiger Shroff’s loyal fan base of children and young adults. Furthermore, the film is facing stiff competition from the Hollywood horror film “The Conjuring: Last Rites,” which was released on the same day and has been on a phenomenal run at the Indian box office, amassing over ₹50 crore in its first three days.

Despite the mixed results, Tiger Shroff took to social media to express his gratitude to fans for their support. The actor thanked his fans for their love for his character, Ronny, acknowledging their unwavering support for the franchise since its inception.

“Baaghi 4,” directed by A. Harsha, also features Sanjay Dutt, Sonam Bajwa, and marks the Bollywood debut of former Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu. While the film’s action sequences and Tiger’s performance have received some praise, the overall narrative and screenplay have been subject to criticism. As the film heads into its first weekday, it remains to be seen how it will hold up at the box office.
