
New Delhi, November 18, 2025: The Odia music industry has been shocked by the untimely death of popular singer Humane Sagar, who passed away at the age of 34 while undergoing treatment. The singer, whose soulful voice was beloved by countless listeners, was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in a critical condition and ultimately succumbed to multi-organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) on Monday evening.
Sagar was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, on November 14 with severe health complications. It was confirmed by the hospital that he had been suffering from ailments including bilateral pneumonia, acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), and dilated cardiomyopathy. Despite aggressive and advanced care being provided by an expert team of specialist doctors, his condition failed to improve. The news of his passing on Monday night was shared by the hospital via an official bulletin.
The loss was termed “an irreparable loss” by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family. Former Chief Minister and BJD leader Naveen Patnaik also expressed his deep sorrow, stating that Sagar’s contributions to Odia music will always be remembered. Tributes have been poured in from various political leaders, fans, and colleagues across the state following the announcement of his death.
