The footage, which shows two individuals disrupting the public peace, quickly went viral. This public display of misconduct at the popular tourist spot prompted numerous complaints from the general public and was immediately flagged by authorities. The incident was viewed as an attempt to disturb the peaceful environment that is maintained for both visitors and locals in the picturesque area.
Following the immediate circulation of the controversial video, prompt action was taken by the Ganderbal Police. Personnel from the local Police Station Sonamarg were alerted, and an investigation was swiftly launched. Using the video as key evidence, the two individuals responsible for the disturbance were traced and subsequently detained without delay. The men, identified as Mehraj Din Sheikh and Muhammad Arshid Mir, were found to have been causing inconvenience to tourists and local residents alike through their behaviour.

Upon detention, legal proceedings were immediately initiated against the two individuals in accordance with the law. The accused were formally bound down for good behaviour, a legal step taken to ensure that no similar disruption of public order is attempted in the future. Both individuals were later produced before the Executive Magistrate First Class, Gund, for further necessary action under the law. This decisive and rapid police response was aimed at sending a clear message about the commitment of the district police to maintaining safety and decorum.
