New Delhi, November 29, 2025: The application window for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 has closed, and the National Testing Agency (NTA) is providing a crucial, one-time opportunity for registered candidates to rectify errors in their submitted forms. This correction window is vital, as accurate information is mandatory for the issuance of your Admit Card and final result. Missing this period means any mistakes will be carried forward, potentially causing major issues during the examination or counseling process.

Key Dates for the Correction Window

EventDate (Session 1)
JEE Main Registration ClosesNovember 27, 2025 (9:00 PM)
Correction Window Start DateDecember 1, 2025
Correction Window Last DateDecember 2, 2025 (Until 11:50 PM)
Exam DatesJanuary 21 – 30, 2026

Please note: The correction window is extremely brief—only two days. You must act quickly and carefully within this timeframe.

What You CAN Change

The NTA allows modifications to specific fields. Candidates must log in to the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, to make the changes. Here is a list of the most commonly correctable details:

  • Personal Details: You can change one of the following: Candidate’s Name, Father’s Name, OR Mother’s Name.
  • Academic Information: Details of Class 10th and Class 12th (marks, board, etc.).
  • Exam Preferences: Exam City selection (based on your permanent and present address) and Medium of Examination.
  • Identification/Category Details: Date of Birth, Gender, Category (Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL/SC/ST), Sub-category (PwD status). You may also re-upload your Category/PwD certificate if the first upload was faulty or invalid.
  • Other: PAN card number, Signature, and adding an additional paper (B.Arch/B.Planning).

If you change your Category from SC/ST/PwD/Female to General/OBC-NCL or opt for an extra paper, you will likely have to pay an additional fee to complete the correction.

What You CANNOT Change

There are several crucial fields that are non-editable once the registration fee is paid. This is why initial submission care is paramount:

  • Contact Information: Registered Mobile Number and Email Address.
  • Address: Permanent and Present Address.
  • Emergency Contacts.
  • Photograph: The uploaded photograph is usually locked.
