New Delhi, December 18, 2025: The Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) police have registered a suo motu case against the management of Lulu Mall and the organizers of a promotional event for the film The Raja Saab. This action follows a chaotic incident on Wednesday evening where popular actor Nidhhi Agerwal was mobbed by an unruly crowd, raising serious concerns over celebrity safety and public event management.
The incident occurred during the launch of the song “Sahana Sahana” from the highly anticipated film The Raja Saab, which stars Nidhhi Agerwal alongside Prabhas. Thousands of fans descended upon the mall’s lobby to catch a glimpse of the stars and director Maruthi.
While the initial proceedings were celebratory, the situation spiraled out of control as the actor attempted to exit the venue. Viral footage shows Nidhhi surrounded by a dense, aggressive crowd. Despite the presence of private security and bouncers, the crowd breached the security cordon, leaving the actor visibly shaken and distressed. She was seen struggling to move through the sea of people, at one point desperately clutching her outfit as individuals jostled for selfies and physical proximity.
KPHB Inspector S. Rajashekhar Reddy confirmed that a case has been filed against the mall management and the movie’s promotional team. According to the police, the organizers had not obtained prior official permission to host a gathering of such a large scale.
“A case is being registered against the mall management and the event organisers for holding the programme without permission,” the Inspector stated.
The lack of official police deployment and a clear exit strategy meant there were no designated “safe zones” or barricaded pathways. This left the actress vulnerable to the aggressive mob during her walk to her vehicle. Upon finally reaching the safety of her car, Nidhhi was heard exclaiming, “What the hell was that?”—a comment that has since resonated with concerned fans online.
The incident has triggered a fierce debate regarding civic decorum and the safety of female celebrities in public spaces.
The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage and viral videos to ascertain the full extent of the lapses in crowd control. The Raja Saab is slated for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026, but this incident has already cast a shadow over its promotional campaign, serving as a grim reminder of the risks involved in large-scale public appearances without adequate security protocols.
