The Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore once again became the epicenter of spiritual fervor and cultural vibrancy as it hosted the Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations. While the night was filled with powerful meditations and soulful chants, social media is currently abuzz with viral footage of Indian cinema’s leading ladies—Tamannaah Bhatia, Sara Arjun, and Srinidhi Shetty—celebrating the “Great Night of Shiva” with infectious energy.

A Night of High Energy and Devotion

The viral videos, which began circulating early Monday morning, show the actresses fully immersed in the spirit of the festival. Leading the charge was Tamannaah Bhatia, who appeared radiant in a simple yet elegant ivory ethnic suit. Known for her love of the arts, Tamannaah was seen leading a group of devotees, dancing joyfully to the rhythmic beats of the Sounds of Isha.

Joining her was the rising star Sara Arjun, who is currently riding high on the massive success of her Bollywood debut, Dhurandhar. Sara, who looked stunning in traditional attire, expressed her gratitude for being part of the event.

“I am having the most beautiful time. I can’t really express how grateful and blessed I feel to be here and witness these brilliant performances,” she shared during the event.

Srinidhi Shetty’s “Mahashivratri Party”

KGF star Srinidhi Shetty added a touch of wit to the spiritual night. Addressing the crowd and her followers, she addressed a common question she receives about her lifestyle.

“Every year, people ask me why I don’t party. Why do you think I don’t party? You should see me on Mahashivratri! That’s the night tonight,” Srinidhi quipped, emphasizing that the spiritual high of the Isha celebrations far outweighs any conventional celebration.

Stars and Statesmen Under the Moonlight

The actresses were joined by other prominent figures from the film industry, including Mouni Roy, who described the experience as “overwhelming.” Mouni noted that after discovering the event last year, she felt a deep calling to return and witness the sacred rituals and Annadanam (sacred food offering) firsthand.

The 2026 celebration, themed around the Ganga river to highlight its spiritual and ecological significance, wasn’t just a star-studded affair for the film industry. The event also saw the participation of high-ranking political leaders, including:

  • Rajnath Singh, Union Defence Minister (Chief Guest)
  • Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Chief Minister
  • L. Murugan, Union Minister

Staying Awake for the Divine

As per tradition, the Mahashivratri celebrations at Isha Foundation run from 6 PM to 6 AM. The goal of the night-long festival is to help participants remain alert and awake to take advantage of the natural upsurge of energy in the human system.

Tamannaah Bhatia perfectly summed up the sentiment of the night: “I am going to be trying to dance as much as I can so I can stay awake for the midnight meditation and the discourses.”

With electrifying performances by artists like Aditya Gadhvi and Swaroop Khan, and guided meditations led by Sadhguru, the 2026 Mahashivratri once again proved to be a unique blend of ancient tradition and contemporary celebration, leaving fans and devotees inspired by the sight of their favorite stars lost in devotion.
