Hyderabad Businessman Dies After Being Struck by Speeding Mercedes on Cable Bridge

According to the Madhapur police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:15 AM on Sunday. The couple, residents of Hafeezpet, had gone out late in the night to drop off a parcel at a travel bus service and enjoy a late-night meal. As the couple stood on the bridge, the victim’s wife was positioned on the pedestrian walkway, while Shyam Raj remained on the road to capture a photograph of her. Moments later, a Mercedes car, travelling at a high speed from the direction of Jubilee Hills toward the IKEA stretch, struck him. The impact was reportedly severe enough that the vehicle collided with the bridge railing before coming to a stop.

Immediate Aftermath and Investigation

Passersby who witnessed the accident rushed to assist both the victim and the driver of the luxury vehicle. However, amidst the ensuing chaos at the site, the driver managed to exit the car and flee the scene, leaving the damaged vehicle behind.

Shyam Raj was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, but, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, he succumbed to his injuries later that afternoon.
