New Delhi, November 15, 2025: An announcement regarding a significant vehicle recall has been made by Maruti Suzuki Limited, India’s largest automaker. It has been confirmed that 39,506 units of the Grand Vitara are being recalled due to a suspected defect in the fuel level indicator system.

Affected Vehicles and Suspected Issue

The vehicles affected by this recall were manufactured within a specific timeframe: December 9, 2024, to April 29, 2025.

It is suspected that the fuel level indicator and warning light located in the speedometer assembly of these vehicles may not be accurately reflecting the fuel status, as was stated in a regulatory filing by the company. A proactive approach is being taken by the automaker to address this concern, which is related to the proper functioning and safety perception of the vehicle.

Action to be Taken

Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted directly by authorized Maruti Suzuki dealer workshops. The necessary inspection and replacement of the faulty part will be carried out at no cost to the vehicle owners. The company’s action demonstrates its commitment to customer safety and maintaining high standards of vehicle quality.
