New Delhi, March 27, 2026: Suzuki Motorcycle India has officially sent the automotive industry into a tizzy by teasing a brand-new two-wheeler launch scheduled for April 2, 2026. While the Japanese manufacturer has kept the exact model name under wraps, all signs—from teaser silhouettes to recent test mule sightings—point toward the arrival of the next-generation Suzuki Burgman Street.
This launch marks a significant milestone for the Burgman brand, which has remained largely unchanged since its Indian debut in 2018, barring the introduction of the high-spec “EX” variant in late 2022.
The most striking revelation from the official teaser is the new split LED headlamp setup. Moving away from the current single-pod unit, the 2026 Burgman Street appears to draw heavy design inspiration from its larger global siblings, the Burgman 200 and 400.
The teaser showcases a more aggressive front apron, integrated LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), and a centrally placed Suzuki logo. This “maxi-scooter” aesthetic is expected to give the new model a much more commanding road presence compared to its predecessor.
Experts believe the new Burgman will follow in the footsteps of the new-generation Access 125 launched earlier this year. Expected mechanical highlights include:
To stay competitive against rivals like the TVS Ntorq 125 and Yamaha Ray ZR, Suzuki is likely to pack the 2026 Burgman with modern tech:
There is also a swirling rumor that Suzuki might surprise the market with a Burgman Street 150. With the growing popularity of premium performance scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Hero Xoom 160, a 150cc-155cc variant using the Gixxer’s engine platform remains a “wildcard” possibility for the April 2 event.
The current Suzuki Burgman Street range is priced between ₹93,676 and ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Given the substantial design and feature updates, the new-gen model is expected to carry a premium of ₹5,000 to ₹8,000 over the outgoing version.
Once launched, it will continue its rivalry with the TVS Ntorq 125, Aprilia SXR 125, and the Honda Activa 125, solidifying Suzuki’s dominance in the premium 125cc segment.
