Tata Motors has officially launched the much-anticipated facelift of its premium hatchback, the Altroz, with introductory prices starting from ₹6.89 lakh (ex-showroom). This significant update marks the first major revision for the Altroz since its debut in January 2020, bringing a host of enhancements in styling, features, and technology, aimed at further solidifying its position in the competitive premium hatchback segment. Bookings for the new Altroz are set to commence on June 2, 2025.

The 2025 Altroz facelift comes with a refreshed and more assertive design, drawing inspiration from Tata’s contemporary design language. The front fascia now boasts new twin-pod projector LED headlights with sleek, eyebrow-like LED DRLs and redesigned pixel-style LED fog lamps that are integrated into a sportier bumper with a larger air intake. The side profile is accentuated by newly designed 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and segment-first flush-type illuminated front door handles, lending it a premium touch. At the rear, the Altroz sports stylish new connected LED tail lamps that span the width of the tailgate, along with a revised bumper design. The refreshed Altroz is available in five appealing monotone colour options: Pure Grey, Royal Blue, Dune Glow, Ember Glow, and Pristine White.

Step inside the updated Altroz, and you are greeted by a cabin that has been significantly upgraded for a more premium and technologically advanced experience. The dashboard features a new layout with soft-touch elements and a dual-tone black and beige upholstery that contributes to a more airy and sophisticated ambiance. A highlight of the interior is the new dual 10.25-inch HD screens – one for the infotainment system by Harman and the other for the full-digital instrument cluster, which now includes an integrated map view and blind spot monitor.

Further enhancing the cabin experience are features like a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, ambient lighting, a voice-enabled single-pane sunroof, a wireless phone charger with Qi support, an air purifier, and rear AC vents with a dedicated USB Type-C charging port. The automatic climate control now features a touch-based panel with physical toggles for fan speed and temperature, offering a refined tactile experience.

Safety remains a cornerstone of the Altroz’s appeal, building on its impressive 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. The facelifted model now comes with six airbags as standard across all variants, along with Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and ISOFIX child seat mounts. Higher trims further bolster safety with advanced features such as a 360-degree HD surround view camera system with blind spot monitoring and an SOS emergency calling function.

Under the hood, the 2025 Tata Altroz retains its versatile powertrain options. These include a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine (87 bhp, 115 Nm), a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine (118 bhp, 170 Nm) from the Altroz Racer, a 1.5-litre diesel engine (89 bhp, 200 Nm), and a 1.2-litre twin-cylinder CNG powertrain. Transmission choices have been expanded to include a 5-speed manual, a newly added 5-speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), and a 6-speed Dual Clutch Automatic (DCA), catering to a wide range of driving preferences.

With its enhanced styling, cutting-edge features, and continued emphasis on safety, the new Tata Altroz facelift is poised to intensify competition in the premium hatchback segment, directly challenging rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai i20, and Toyota Glanza. This update reasserts Tata Motors’ commitment to offering feature-rich, stylish, and safe vehicles to the Indian market.
