New Delhi, November 25, 2025: The wait is finally over. Tata Motors has officially launched the highly anticipated new-generation Tata Sierra 2025 in India, bringing back one of the country’s most iconic SUV nameplates after more than two decades. Blending its legendary boxy silhouette with cutting-edge technology and three diverse powertrain options, the Sierra has been introduced at an aggressive introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 11.49 lakh for the base model.
The Sierra is positioned to redefine the premium mid-size SUV segment, challenging rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. While this starting price is for the entry-level variant, the full, variant-wise price list for the entire range is expected to be announced in December 2025. Official bookings for the new SUV are slated to begin on December 16, 2025, with customer deliveries scheduled to kick off in mid-January 2026.
The 2025 Tata Sierra is built on the versatile new ARGOS (All-Terrain Ready, Omni-Energy and Geometry Scalable) platform, which allows it to support petrol, diesel, and future electric powertrains.
The new SUV will be available in seven distinct trims across four broad personas: Smart+, Pure, Adventure, and Accomplished, ensuring an option for every buyer.
Under the hood, Tata Motors offers three engine choices:
Tata has also confirmed that an all-wheel-drive (AWD) option will be introduced soon, further cementing the Sierra’s robust capability.
The new Sierra’s design masterfully balances heritage with modernity. It retains the original model’s signature boxy silhouette and commanding road presence. The iconic ‘Alpine Window’ effect—the large, curved rear glass section of the original—has been cleverly re-imagined by using a contrasting black finish above the rear window line, creating a unique floating-roof look.
Exterior highlights include a full-width connected LED light bar at the front and rear, sleek Bi-LED projector headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, and large 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
The interior of the Sierra steps into the luxury territory with a host of segment-first features. The cabin adopts a premium black and grey theme, centred around a sophisticated triple-screen dashboard setup in the top variants, which includes a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, and a dedicated 12.3-inch co-driver screen.
Other premium features include:
With its blend of classic looks, flexible powertrains, and a class-leading suite of technology, the new Tata Sierra 2025 is set to carve out a strong identity in the Indian SUV market.
