New Delhi, March 30, 2026 – One of India’s most iconic nameplates is making a comeback. The 2026 Bajaj Pulsar 180 has officially begun arriving at authorized dealerships across the country, signaling an imminent launch. After being discontinued in late 2022 to make room for the “N” and “NS” series, the “Classic” Pulsar 180 is returning to bridge the gap between the Pulsar 150 and the legendary Pulsar 220F.

The move follows Rajiv Bajaj’s earlier statement that 2026 would be the “Year of the Pulsar,” as the brand continues to refresh its core portfolio to satisfy a loyal fanbase that still prefers the classic silhouette over newer, more radical designs.

Classic Design with a Modern Soul

While the 2026 iteration retains the muscular “wolf-eyed” silhouette that defined a generation of Indian motorcycling, Bajaj has integrated several contemporary upgrades:

  • LED Lighting: The traditional halogen setup has finally been replaced with a high-intensity LED headlamp unit and LED turn indicators, bringing it in line with the recently updated Pulsar 125 and 150.
  • Fully Digital Console: The iconic analog tachometer—a favorite among enthusiasts—has made way for a fully digital LCD instrument cluster. This new unit is expected to feature Bluetooth connectivity, allowing riders to access turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts.
  • Aesthetic Refinements: The bikes spotted at dealerships showcase a sleek “Sparkle Black” base with aggressive red and grey decals. Carbon-fiber textures on the front fender and side panels add a touch of modern sportiness.

Performance and Hardware

The 2026 model is expected to stick with its tried-and-tested mechanical foundation, refined for current emission standards.

Pulsar 220FThe motorcycle continues to use its signature hardware, including telescopic front forks and 5-way adjustable Nitrox rear shock absorbers. The spotted units also feature the “chunkier” exhaust canister usually reserved for the Pulsar 220F, giving the 180 a deeper, more commanding exhaust note.

Market Positioning and Competition

The revival of the Pulsar 180 is a strategic move by Bajaj to counter rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 180 and the Honda Hornet 2.0. By offering a “Classic” alternative to its own modern N160 and NS160 models, Bajaj is catering to riders who value the ergonomics, long-seat comfort, and nostalgia of the original Pulsar range.

“The Pulsar 180 has always been about the ‘Big Bike’ feel at an accessible price point. Its return proves that there is still massive demand for the original Pulsar DNA,” says an industry analyst.

Expected Pricing

While Bajaj has not officially announced the price, industry insiders expect the 2026 Bajaj Pulsar 180 to be priced between ₹1.25 lakh and ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
