This announcement marks a significant milestone for thousands of aspirants eyeing prestigious administrative roles within the Assam state government.

According to the official notification, a total of 879 candidates have successfully cleared the rigorous written mains examination and are now eligible for the final hurdle: the Interview/Personality Test (Viva-Voce).

What’s Next for Qualified Candidates?

Clearing the Mains is a massive achievement, but the selection process is not over. Qualified candidates must now shift their focus to the Interview round, which carries 275 marks (or 180 marks depending on the specific service cycle rules) and plays a decisive role in the final merit list.

1. Official Interview Schedule

The APSC has stated that the detailed schedule for the Interview/Viva-Voce will be notified separately. Shortlisted candidates should regularly monitor the official portal for their specific dates, venues, and the release of Interview Call Letters.

2. Document Verification

The interview stage is typically preceded or accompanied by a thorough document verification process. Candidates should ensure they have original copies and self-attested photocopies of:

  • Age proof (HSLC Admit Card/Certificate).
  • Educational certificates (Degree and Marksheets).
  • Caste/Category certificates (if applicable).
  • Employment Exchange Registration Certificate.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs.

3. Preparation Strategy for the Personality Test

The interview is designed to assess a candidate’s mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, and leadership qualities.

  • Bio-data/DAF Review: Be prepared to answer questions about your hometown, educational background, hobbies, and past work experience.
  • Assam-Specific Knowledge: Deepen your understanding of Assam’s history, culture, economy, and current socio-political issues (e.g., floods, ethnic diversity, and state government schemes).
  • Current Affairs: Stay updated on national and international events from the past 6–12 months.
  • Mock Interviews: Participating in mock sessions can help refine body language, tone, and the ability to handle pressure.

Final Selection and Vacancies

The final merit list will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Mains Written Examination and the Interview. This recruitment drive aims to fill various Grade I and Grade II positions, including:

  • Assam Civil Service (ACS)
  • Assam Police Service (APS)
  • Inspector of Taxes/Labour
  • District Transport Officer
  • Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies

As the competition enters its final leg, the 879 qualifiers are advised to maintain a disciplined routine and stay informed via official APSC updates.
