• Automated Merit List: The system generates a merit list based on percentages calculated up to four decimal places.
• Tie-Breaking Rule: In cases where two candidates have the same marks, preference is given to the older candidate. If the tie persists, a specific community priority (ST > SC > OBC > EWS > UR) is applied.
• Local Language: Knowledge of the local language of the applied circle is a mandatory eligibility requirement.

How to Check India Post GDS Result 2026 Online

Once the Department of Posts activates the link, follow these steps to download the merit list:

1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
2. Locate the Result Section: Look for the “GDS 2026 Schedule-I Shortlisted Candidates” tab on the homepage.
3. Select Your Circle: A list of states/circles will appear. Click on the circle you applied for (e.g., Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar).
4. Download PDF: Click on the “List of Shortlisted Candidates” link to open the PDF file.
