Eligibility Criteria
To ensure high technical standards, the Army has set specific eligibility requirements:
Nationality: Must be a citizen of India (or meet specific criteria for subjects of Nepal/Bhutan and persons of Indian origin).
Age Limit: Candidates must be between 20 and 27 years as of October 1, 2026. (Born between October 2, 1999, and October 1, 2006). Widows of defence personnel have an age relaxation up to 35 years.
Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess a B.E. or B.Tech degree in relevant engineering streams. Final-year students are also eligible to apply, provided they complete their degree and provide proof before the course starts.
Selection Process
The SSC Tech entry is unique because it does not require a written examination. The selection follows a rigorous multi-stage evaluation:
Shortlisting: Based on the cumulative percentage of marks obtained in the engineering degree.
SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a five-day evaluation (Stage I & II) at Selection Centres (Allahabad, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar).
Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a thorough medical fitness check.
Final Merit List: Based on SSB scores and medical fitness.
