New Delhi, December 02, 2025: Fans who loved the unique mix of horror, comedy, and romance in Ayushmann Khurrana’s latest blockbuster, ‘Thamma,’ can finally mark their calendars! The highly successful film, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is all set for its digital premiere on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
In a move that follows the trend for major film releases, ‘Thamma’ will have a two-phase digital launch, giving viewers a choice on when and how they want to dive into the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe’s latest chapter.
The movie’s digital journey begins in early December, with the full streaming release scheduled for mid-month.
This dual-date release strategy ensures that eager fans who can’t wait can watch it now by renting, while others can enjoy it as part of their Prime subscription two weeks later.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, ‘Thamma’ has already been a massive success, adding a fresh and intriguing vampire story to the popular Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU), which includes hits like Stree and Bhediya.
The film introduces us to Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana), an ordinary urban journalist whose life takes a dramatic turn after he falls head over heels for Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna). The twist? Tadaka is a vampire (or a ‘Betaal’ from the film’s unique folklore). Their forbidden love forces Alok into a supernatural battle against the menacing and ancient leader of the vampire clan, Yakshasan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui).
The narrative expertly blends:
The film boasts a strong ensemble cast. Ayushmann Khurrana delivers a memorable performance as the bewildered-yet-lovable Alok, while Rashmika Mandanna impresses in her role as the mysterious Tadaka. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, as the antagonist Yakshasan, brings a fierce intensity to the screen. The cast also features veteran actor Paresh Rawal in a pivotal role.
After a solid performance at the box office, ‘Thamma’ is ready to captivate a much wider audience with its digital release, continuing the interconnected story of the MHCU right in your living room.
