Gujarati cinema actors Manasi Parekh and veteran performer Tiku Talsania have landed in significant legal and social media trouble after a video of them performing dangerous bike stunts on a busy Ahmedabad road went viral. The risky maneuver was reportedly part of a promotional activity for their newly released Gujarati film, Misri, but has instead sparked a heated debate over public safety and celebrity responsibility, culminating in a police case being filed against them.

The Viral Stunts and Immediate Backlash

The promotional activity, which took place ahead of the film’s release, involved the actors performing stunts amidst regular city traffic.

  • In one of the clips that circulated widely on social media, actress Manasi Parekh is seen standing on a moving motorcycle, recreating the famous “Titanic” pose, while allegedly riding pillion without a helmet.
  • Another video reportedly showed the 71-year-old veteran actor Tiku Talsania riding a bike while standing upright on it.

The footage drew immediate and strong online trolling and widespread condemnation. Netizens and road safety advocates slammed the actors for their “irresponsible act,” pointing out that such stunts on public roads not only violated traffic laws but also endangered the lives of commuters and pedestrians. Critics were quick to question the judgment of using such a risky method for film promotion, with many demanding strict action against the celebrities for setting a poor public example.

Ahmedabad Police Files Case

Taking swift cognizance of the viral videos, the Ahmedabad Traffic Police announced that they had registered a formal case against the actors and others involved.

  • A case, with Crime Register No. 11191051250588/2025, has been filed at the ‘A’ Division Traffic Police Station.
  • The police have initiated legal action under BNS Section 281 (pertaining to reckless or negligent driving) and Motor Vehicles Act Sections 177 and 184, which cover negligent and dangerous driving that could endanger human life.
  • The police emphasized that “legal action has been initiated,” underscoring the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the offense, irrespective of the individuals’ celebrity status or the promotional intent.
  • Reports indicate that Talsania, along with co-actors Prem Gadhavi and Jaisal Jadeja, were briefly detained and later released on bail. The actors were also seen issuing a public apology at the police station, regretting the “misunderstanding” and promising not to repeat the mistake.

🎭 A Misguided Promotional Strategy

While the film Misri, a romantic comedy, has received positive reviews since its release, the controversy has completely overshadowed its success. The incident highlights a growing concern about promotional gimmicks that prioritize sensationalism and virality over adherence to safety norms and laws. Authorities and the public alike have reiterated that no one is above the law, and celebrities have a greater responsibility to be role models, especially concerning public health and safety issues like traffic rules.
