New Delhi, january 13, 2026: As Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar continues to dominate the global box office—reportedly nearing the ₹1,300 crore mark—actor Danish Pandor, who plays the pivotal role of Uzair Baloch, has shared intriguing insights into the film’s controversy and the contrasting work styles of his co-stars, Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna.
In a series of recent interviews, Pandor addressed the film’s ban in several Middle Eastern territories and provided a “masterclass” look into how two of Bollywood’s finest actors approach their craft.
Despite its massive domestic success, Dhurandhar faced a significant hurdle in the international market. The film has been blocked across six Gulf nations—including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar—reportedly due to its sensitive “anti-Pakistan” themes and geopolitical narrative.
Responding to the ban, Pandor maintained a balanced perspective. He noted that while the film is backed by intense research into real-world events like the 26/11 attacks, the interpretation of such stories is ultimately in the eye of the beholder.
Pandor, who shared a significant “bromance” with Ranveer Singh both on and off-screen, described the actor as a “rare and secure” performer. According to Pandor, Ranveer’s energy on set is contagious, but his work process is surprisingly disciplined and selfless.
In stark contrast to Ranveer’s warmth, Akshaye Khanna—who plays the menacing Rehman Dakait—followed a process of deep, meditative isolation. Pandor revealed that Akshaye would often sit in a corner, avoiding his phone and conversation to fully absorb the environment of the scene.
With the first film’s ending setting the stage for a grand finale, Pandor confirmed that Dhurandhar Part 2 is already on the horizon. The sequel promises to dive deeper into the dark trajectory of Uzair Baloch and the complex geopolitical web established in the first chapter.
