Salman Khan’s Unexpected Advice: Why Palak Tiwari Worked Behind The Scenes First

When a then 18-year-old Palak Tiwari expressed her desire to become an actor, superstar Salman Khan offered her a unique and invaluable piece of advice: to first understand the filmmaking process from behind the camera. This guidance, which he imparted at a “Bigg Boss reunion,” proved instrumental in shaping Palak’s early career in Bollywood.

Palak, daughter of television actress Shweta Tiwari, had revealed to Salman her aspirations of acting. In response, Salman suggested she first gain experience as an Assistant Director (AD) to learn the intricacies of what happens on a film set. Taking his advice to heart, Palak went on to work as an AD on Salman Khan’s film Antim: The Final Truth, starring Salman himself.

This hands-on experience, according to Palak, provided her with a profound appreciation for the hard work involved in filmmaking. She stated that working behind the camera taught her “discipline, patience, and respect for every crew member,” lessons she believes actors can easily take for granted. This foundational knowledge prepared her for her eventual acting debut.

Despite having worked closely with Salman Khan, including her acting debut in his film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan in 2023, Palak admits she still gets star-struck in his presence. She has shared that even receiving a message from him can make her stutter, noting that he “just changed my entire personality.” Salman, in turn, would often tell her to “Aaram se bolo” (speak without hesitation).

Palak Tiwari’s journey into acting, marked by her popular music video “Bijlee Bijlee” and subsequent film roles, has been significantly influenced by Salman Khan’s mentorship, which encouraged her to learn the craft from a holistic perspective before stepping into the spotlight.
