New Delhi, August 30, 2025: The Telugu film industry has been plunged into grief following the death of Smt Allu Kanakaratnamma, the grandmother of actor Allu Arjun and the wife of the legendary late actor Allu Ramalingaiah. She passed away at the age of 94 due to age-related illnesses. The news has led to an immediate response from her family, with both Allu Arjun and his cousin, Ram Charan, canceling their professional commitments to rush to Hyderabad.
Allu Arjun, who was in Mumbai shooting for his upcoming film, was immediately informed of the news and was seen at the airport, heading back to Hyderabad. It was reported that the actor was visibly saddened by the news. Meanwhile, Ram Charan, who was in Mysore filming a grand song sequence for his much-anticipated project, Peddi, has also canceled the shoot to be with his family. A large number of dancers and crew members were part of the song’s production, but the shoot was halted out of respect for the family.

The mortal remains of Smt Allu Kanakaratnamma were brought to the residence of her son, the renowned producer Allu Aravind. The final rites are scheduled to be performed later today at Kokapet, where family members, relatives, and prominent figures from the film fraternity are expected to gather to pay their last respects. The arrangements for the funeral are being personally overseen by Allu Aravind and his brother-in-law, Megastar Chiranjeevi.
