Zwigato Review

Zwigato Movie Review:  Zwigato is such a beautiful movie with its wonderful storytelling. Box office revenue showed its success. The producer came up with a story with different tastes. It is the story of Manas Singh Mahto, a worker, who lives in Bhubaneswar with his family.

Manas, the role played by Kapil Sharma and his wife Pratima (Shahana Goswami) live with anxiety daily. Will Manas be competent to make the requisite number of deliveries to be apt to get the adequate number of stars? How do you best an ‘app’ that controls your every waking minute, and where you can be reduced to zero at the impulses and likings of those you deliver to? To know this everything and realize the story of original India you have to watch the movie.

Other fact bombs are scattered through the movie, which does periodically find itself being weighed under the series of bald messages, but which never feels less than actual. A political activist’s (Swanand Kirkire) protest meeting where Manas speaks of the brazen entitlement of the wealthy and influential is drowned out by loudspeakers as the police officer stands by, and a participant is dragged out. Where is he taken, and will we ever see him again? The brief scene plays out in the atmosphere but leaves an effect. The brute troop is at play, and we are mute viewers of the rising polarisation in the nation.

Pratima finds herself being the buffer between the mounting frustrations of her husband and children, who are plugged into aspirational India that will presumably be able to get them out of the precariously of their parents’ lives. Will Manas, whose roots in the village are still strong, will make peace with the alienation living in a city poses?

Being shot in Bhubaneswar, where you can see the old and the new jostling next to each other, as well as hear locals speak Oriya, brings freshness and flavour to the film. Both Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami are terrific. To see their beautiful acting and want to watch a real Indian story you have to go cinema hall and buy a ticket.
