New Delhi, December 29, 2025: A firm message regarding public safety was delivered by the Delhi Police this week following the circulation of a reckless driving video. On December 26, 2025, a group of men was observed performing high-speed maneuvers on the city’s busy Ring Road. In the footage, which was widely shared on the social media platform X, multiple cars were seen swerving dangerously and zigzagging through traffic late at night. The individuals involved were observed standing out of sunroofs and windows, shouting as the vehicles sped from the ITO stretch towards Sarai Kale Khan and Noida.

Swift Action by Central Delhi Police

The blatant disregard for traffic norms was brought to the attention of authorities after an online user flagged the “extremely dangerous” behavior. On December 28, 2025, the Delhi Police confirmed that an FIR (First Information Report) had been registered in connection with the incident. Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan, a dedicated team was formed to trace the offenders. Through technical surveillance and analysis of the viral footage, five individuals were successfully identified and apprehended within twenty-four hours of the investigation commencing.

Identifying the Offenders and Seizing Vehicles

The suspects have been identified as Almas Arshad (20), Sarfaraz (26), Mohammad Imran Qureshi (38), Mohammad Shabbir (23), and Saad Abdullah (22). All five men are reported to be residents of the Jamia Nagar and Okhla areas in South Delhi. In addition to the arrests, four cars used in the stunt—which included models seen swerving sharply across lanes—were seized by the police. The accused have been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act for rash driving and endangering the lives of other commuters.

A Zero-Tolerance Policy for “Clout”

The incident has triggered a broader discussion regarding the rising trend of performing dangerous acts for social media “clout.” It was noted by senior officials that such behavior not only puts the participants at risk but also threatens innocent pedestrians and motorists. The Delhi Police released a statement emphasizing their commitment to ensuring road safety, stating that any violations intended for “reels” or entertainment would be met with strict legal consequences. Citizens have been urged to use the emergency number 112 to report any such unruly behavior immediately.

Tightened Vigil Ahead of the New Year

As the city prepares to enter 2026, the arrest of the five stuntmen serves as a precursor to heightened security measures across the capital. Nearly 20,000 personnel have been deployed to curb drunken driving and reckless behavior during the year-end festivities. The police have clarified that constant monitoring of social media platforms is being conducted to identify violators who believe they can escape the law by filming at night. The message remains clear: the city’s roads are for transit, not for life-threatening performances.
