New Delhi, August 27, 2025: The joyous festival of Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated across India and beyond on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. This auspicious occasion, which marks the birth of Lord Ganesha, was observed with immense devotion, vibrant celebrations, and a flood of well-wishes shared among communities. The streets were filled with the chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya,” and homes were adorned with beautiful idols and festive decorations.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a 10-day festival that is celebrated with great pomp and grandeur. It is believed that Lord Ganesha, who is worshipped as the God of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune, visits the homes of his devotees during this period. The festival is not only a spiritual affair but also a social event that brings people together.
Preparations for the festival were begun weeks in advance. Beautifully crafted idols of Lord Ganesha were brought home, and pandals were erected in various localities. Homes and public spaces were decorated with flowers, lights, and vibrant rangoli. The air was filled with the aroma of traditional sweets, particularly modaks, which are considered a favorite of the elephant-headed deity.
