New Delhi, November 4, 2025: A significant political stir has been caused after a fiery statement made by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge during a speech in Patna was widely circulated across various platforms. A severe attack was launched on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was explicitly referred to as “jhuthon ke sardar” (chieftain of liars). The controversial and highly aggressive phrase, which was uttered during a rally, has since become a major talking point in the charged political environment.

Accusations of Misleading the Nation Are Made

In the full context of the speech, a strong accusation was made by the Congress chief, claiming that the Prime Minister is misleading the country and is incapable of bringing good to the nation due to his alleged propensity for falsehoods.

The public was reminded of various unfulfilled promises that had been made over the years, including the pledge of providing two crore jobs annually and the promise of depositing ₹15 lakh into every citizen’s bank account. These broken pledges were cited as the primary evidence to support the ‘jhuthon ke sardar’ epithet.

Political Context and Allegations of Victim Card

The verbal assault was not limited to unfulfilled promises; it also touched upon personal and political strategies. It was alleged by Kharge that the Prime Minister frequently attempts to gain sympathy by playing a victim card and falsely claiming to be harassed.

Conversely, it was asserted that it is the Prime Minister who is responsible for harassing everyone, including opposition leaders and citizens. Furthermore, the Prime Minister’s backward class status was questioned, with a claim being made that his community was included in the backward list only after he ascended to the position of Chief Minister.

Call for United Fight and Democracy’s Defence

The viral address was also utilized to rally public support for the opposition coalition. An appeal was made for a united fight against the ruling party to save the country’s democracy and Constitution, which Kharge alleged is being threatened. Voters were urged to support the INDIA bloc, which was positioned as the only credible alternative to the current government.

The public’s duty to protect democratic values was stressed, linking the fight against the ruling party to the preservation of the nation’s political future. The hard-hitting rhetoric from the Congress chief has firmly entrenched itself in the ongoing national political debate, demonstrating the high-stakes nature of the current electoral climate.
