New Delhi, November 27, 2025: Widespread disgust was expressed by customers after a shocking video surfaced online showing an employee of a Milpitas, California, restaurant repeatedly slamming frozen slabs of meat onto the ground outside the establishment. The footage, which captured highly unsanitary food handling practices, quickly went viral across social media, leading to immediate intervention by health authorities and the restaurant’s temporary closure.

Unsanitary Practices Exposed

The video, which was reportedly filmed from a rooftop vantage point and shared on platforms like TikTok and Reddit, showed a worker in an alleyway behind the restaurant, identified as Pho Love. The employee was observed hurling racks of frozen beef ribs onto what appeared to be pieces of cardboard placed on the concrete. The meat was seen touching the dirty pavement multiple times, even skidding near a mop bucket and a garbage area, sparking intense revulsion among viewers.

The employee later explained to a county health inspector that the meat was being slammed in an attempt to thaw the frozen slabs because there was no available space on the food prep counter. This explanation, however, failed to satisfy the public or the health department, as the method itself was deemed dangerously unsanitary and a major violation of food safety standards.

Health Department Orders Closure

A complaint was quickly filed with the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health after the video gained prominence. An immediate inspection was conducted at the restaurant. As a direct result of the unsanitary handling practices seen in the video, and a subsequent investigation, the restaurant was ordered to close temporarily.

Further major violations were discovered by the inspector during the visit, intensifying the public’s concern. These findings included evidence of a live cockroach infestation, improper storage of food, employees who lacked state-required food handler cards, and a failure to maintain proper sanitization methods for utensils and equipment. The temporary suspension of the health permit was enforced until all major violations could be corrected and a follow-up inspection was passed.

Customer Trust is Broken

The reaction from the restaurant’s customer base was overwhelmingly negative. Feelings of being “disgusted” and “betrayed” were commonly expressed in comments and online reviews. Many loyal patrons, who had previously enjoyed the restaurant, declared that they would never return, stating that their trust had been completely broken. Online review sites saw a surge in negative feedback, with some reviewers warning others to avoid the eatery due to the risk to public health.

The restaurant’s owner, Uyen Tran, initially attempted to deflect blame, claiming that the video was a deliberate act of sabotage by an unauthorized employee. However, this claim was met with skepticism by the public, especially after the health department’s investigation uncovered multiple underlying systemic issues that went beyond a single employee’s action. The incident has served as a powerful reminder of the importance of maintaining rigorous hygiene standards in food service.
