New Delhi, january 13, 2026: A tragic discovery in Greater Noida has sent shockwaves through the local community after a 27-year-old woman, who had been missing overnight, was found dead under a parked vehicle on Monday morning.

The Incident: A Night of Uncertainty

The victim, identified as Deepa, a resident of the Beta-2 sector in Greater Noida, worked at a private call center in Noida’s Sector 60. According to family members, Deepa left her home for work on Sunday morning but failed to return at her usual time.

Concerns grew when her younger brother, with whom she lived, found her mobile phone switched off throughout the night. After an unsuccessful search and growing panic, the family prepared to alert the authorities. However, the search ended in tragedy on Monday morning when local residents spotted her body beneath a car parked near a local park in the Beta-2 sector.

Police Investigation and Findings

The Greater Noida police and forensic teams arrived at the scene shortly after the discovery. Preliminary details from the investigation include:

  • Location: The body was found just 50 meters from her residence, under a car parked near a public park.
  • Last Known Movements: Deepa had reportedly spoken to her aunt in Kanpur on Sunday evening, mentioning she was about to get off at the Delta-1 Metro Station and head home.
  • Visible Injuries: While a small injury was noted on her finger, the police are waiting for the full post-mortem report to determine the exact cause of death and to rule out or confirm sexual assault.
  • Current Status: A murder case has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against unidentified suspects.

A Family in Grief

Deepa’s story is particularly heart-wrenching as she was the primary provider for her family. Following the death of her parents, she had taken on the responsibility of supporting her two younger brothers—one who lived with her as a student and another who works in Jaipur. The family had moved to the region from Mahoba district about a year ago in search of better opportunities.

The Road Ahead

Police are currently scanning CCTV footage from the Delta-1 Metro Station to the Beta-2 sector to reconstruct her final moments. They are also analyzing her call detail records (CDR) and mobile location data to identify anyone she may have been in contact with or who may have followed her.

The local community has expressed deep concern over the safety of women commuting at night, demanding increased patrolling and better lighting in the areas surrounding metro stations and residential sectors.
