New Delhi, November 20, 2025: A disturbing incident involving a heated dispute at a Paying Guest (PG) accommodation in Noida was recently captured on video. The footage, which quickly went viral across social media platforms, shows the female operator of the PG facility physically assaulting a young woman resident. The violent action was triggered by a request for the return of a security deposit.
The viral video clearly shows the verbal altercation escalating rapidly. The female resident is seen attempting to reason with the operator regarding the security deposit that was owed to her. Suddenly, the resident is physically slapped by the PG operator. Further physical aggression was reportedly used before the confrontation was eventually broken up by onlookers or other residents, though this part of the incident is not shown clearly in the main circulating clip. The victim was visibly distressed following the assault.

Following the incident’s widespread coverage on social media, the matter was swiftly brought to the attention of the local police. A formal complaint was filed against the PG operator by the resident. Necessary legal steps were immediately taken, and it is expected that the operator will be questioned and appropriate charges will be filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The police have confirmed that the video evidence is being used as a crucial part of the investigation.
The video has sparked widespread public outrage, leading to renewed concerns about the safety and security of young, single women who are living away from home in rented or PG accommodations. The vulnerability of tenants in disputes with aggressive landlords or operators was highlighted by the incident. Calls for stricter regulations and better oversight of PG accommodations in Noida and other metropolitan hubs have been intensified by activists and citizens alike. The need for safe and respectful living environments was strongly emphasized.
Beyond the violence, the incident also brought attention to the common problem of security deposit misappropriation. It is often alleged that operators and landlords are unwilling to return the deposit amount, using various pretexts to withhold the funds. The resident’s initial request for her money back was identified as the root cause of the confrontation. The viral video is being used as evidence that such civil disputes can unfortunately escalate into physical violence when not properly managed.
