Meerut News : In a significant breakthrough, the Saroorpur Khurd Police Station in Meerut has successfully apprehended a notorious gang involved in the theft of electricity wires. This operation, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Rohit Singh Sajwan, culminated in the arrest of six individuals suspected of multiple instances of wire theft across the regions of Village Kakkepur, Bhuni, and Saroorpur. The arrests were made following crucial intelligence received by the police, pinpointing the gang’s activities during late nights in April, May, and June.

Details of the Arrest and Seizure

According to Senior Superintendent Rohit Singh Sajwan, the police team, under the leadership of SHO Sukhveer Singh from Saroorpur Khurd Police Station, along with officers Yagesh Rajouriya, Dushyant Sharma, Jayendra Verma, Ashish, and Ashutosh, executed the operation. The arrested suspects include Shahnavaz, son of Shakir from Gram Mahal under Inchauli Police Station; Suaib, son of Nishaad, also from Village Mahal under Inchauli Police Station; Pintu, son of Tarachand from Gram Kakkepur under Saroorpur Khurd Police Station; Nitin Giri alias Nikki, son of Narendra Giri from Village Kakkepur; Vansh Giri alias Vibhor, son of Govind from Village Kakkepur under Saroorpur Khurd Police Station; and Sangit, son of Suresh from Village Kakkepur under Saroorpur Khurd Police Station.

1500 Kilograms Electricity Wires Found

The operation resulted in the seizure of a Tata Ace Gold mini-truck loaded with approximately 1500 kilograms of stolen electricity wires. The truck, notably lacking a number plate, was intercepted by the police, marking a critical breakthrough in the ongoing efforts to curb such criminal activities in the region.

Following the seizure, the accused are being processed under Section 136/137 of the Electricity Act, and a case bearing reference number 146/24 has been registered at Hazra Police Station for necessary legal proceedings. The police have commended the swift and efficient action of their team in apprehending the criminals and recovering the stolen property, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining law and order in Meerut.
