March 18, 2026 – In a stunning display of devotion, the Shri Sanvariya Seth Temple has once again made national headlines. As the temple treasury (Bhandar) was opened for the latest round of counting in March 2026, the total collection crossed an unprecedented mark, solidifying its position as one of the wealthiest and most visited religious sites in India.
According to the Temple Board officials, the counting process, which spanned several days under high-security surveillance, revealed a collection exceeding ₹46 crore. This figure includes:
What sets Sanvariya Seth apart from other temples is the unique relationship the devotees share with the deity. Lord Krishna here is worshipped as “Sanvariya Seth” (The Dark Merchant Prince).
Thousands of businessmen, farmers, and entrepreneurs across India consider the Lord their “Business Partner.” It is a common practice for devotees to pledge a percentage of their annual profits to the temple. This tradition of “partnership” is the primary reason why the temple sees such massive quantities of high-value donations, as devotees believe their prosperity is a direct result of the Lord’s blessings.
The history of the temple dates back to the year 1840. According to local folklore, a milkman named Bholaram Gurjar had a recurring dream about three divine idols buried underground in the Bagund-Bhadsora plains.
Upon excavation, three identical black stone (Shila) statues of Lord Krishna were discovered.
It is widely believed that these idols are the same ones once worshipped by the legendary poet-saint Meera Bai.
With the footfall expected to cross 5 million devotees annually, the Rajasthan state government and the Temple Trust have initiated several upgrades:
The temple is conveniently located about 40 km from Chittorgarh and 80 km from Udaipur. The nearest airport is Maharana Pratap Airport (Udaipur), and the region is well-connected by premium train services including the Vande Bharat Express.
