New Delhi, December 1, 2025: An alarming video, showing a female school attendant violently assaulting a four-year-old nursery student inside a private school premises in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana, has circulated widely on social media, leading to immediate public outrage. The shocking footage, which captured repeated acts of cruelty, has resulted in the prompt detention of the accused woman and the registration of a criminal case against both the attendant and the school management.

The Assault Is Captured

The disturbing video, reportedly filmed by a local resident near the school in Jeedimetla, Hyderabad, documented the violent actions taken against the minor girl. The attendant, identified as Lakshmi (55), was clearly observed in the footage striking the child multiple times, pushing her to the floor, and, in a horrifying display of cruelty, kicking her and pressing her legs onto the child as the victim struggled to get up. The assault is reported to have occurred on a Saturday while the child was being taken to the washroom.

The sheer brutality captured on camera fueled the widespread sharing of the clip, focusing national attention on the critical issue of child safety within educational institutions.

Authorities Take Immediate Action

Upon seeing the video evidence, the four-year-old girl’s mother, who also works as an ayah at the same school, immediately lodged a formal police complaint after the school management reportedly ignored her initial report. The child was subsequently admitted to a private hospital where she is undergoing treatment for injuries sustained during the assault. Doctors confirmed that her injuries were consistent with a severe physical attack.

Following the verification of the facts, the accused attendant was taken into police custody on Monday. A case has been registered by the police under relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against both the attendant and the school management for the violation of child safety provisions. Personal differences between the accused attendant and the victim’s mother are suspected to have motivated the assault.

Calls for School Accountability Intensify

The incident has rightfully prompted loud demands from parents and child safety activists for increased accountability from the school management. Concerns have been raised over the failure of the private school, identified as Poornima School in some reports, to ensure the safety of its nursery students and to act immediately on the mother’s complaint.

The continuous spread of the video has solidified the public consensus that strict protocols for staff vetting and continuous supervision must be enforced within all schools to prevent such traumatic incidents. The severe trauma inflicted upon the young student serves as a painful reminder of the vulnerability of children and the necessity of maintaining vigilance in all care settings.
