New Delhi, March 7, 2026: The Ministry of Education, Government of India, has officially opened the registration portal for Phase VI of Yuva Sangam, a flagship youth exchange program under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) initiative. Aimed at fostering national integration and cultural sensitivity, the program invites young Indians to explore the diversity of their country through immersive cross-state exposure visits.

What is Yuva Sangam?

Yuva Sangam is a unique initiative inspired by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, focusing on experiential learning and “Unity in Diversity.” It facilitates 5-to-7-day educational and cultural tours (excluding travel time) where youth from one state visit a paired “receiver” state.

The program is built on the foundation of 5 Ps:

  • Paryatan (Tourism): Exploring India’s natural and historical landmarks.
  • Parampara (Traditions): Understanding local arts, crafts, and customs.
  • Pragati (Development): Observing modern infrastructure and governance.
  • Paraspar Sampark (People-to-People Connect): Building lifelong bonds with local communities.
  • Prodyogiki (Technology): Witnessing innovation and technological growth.

Eligibility Criteria

The Ministry has set clear guidelines to ensure wide representation across the country:

  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age.
  • Target Group: Open to students (UG, PG, PhD), National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) volunteers, and young professionals (both employed and self-employed).
  • Citizenship: Applicants must be Indian citizens.
  • Selection Priority: Preference is often given to those who have never participated in previous phases of Yuva Sangam or similar government exchange programs.

Important Dates and Details

According to the official notification, 22 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) have been designated as nodal centers to lead the exchange for this phase.
