New Delhi, February 23, 2026: In a significant expansion of its physical and operational footprint in India, e-commerce giant Amazon officially inaugurated its second-largest office in Asia on Monday, February 23, 2026. Located in the thriving tech corridor of North Bengaluru, the new campus marks a major milestone in the company’s decade-long journey in the country.
Spanning an impressive 1.1 million square feet, the 12-story facility is designed to house more than 7,000 employees. It will serve as a central hub for various critical business units, including e-commerce, technology, payments, operations, and seller services.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Dr. M.B. Patil, Karnataka’s Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, along with senior Amazon executives. The campus is situated approximately 15 kilometers from the Kempegowda International Airport, placing it strategically in one of Bengaluru’s fastest-growing business districts.
This new headquarters replaces Amazon’s previous primary office at the World Trade Center in West Bengaluru. Speaking at the event, Samir Kumar, Country Manager of Amazon India, emphasized the city’s role in the company’s global strategy:
“Bengaluru has played a central role in our journey in India. Today, it remains a key hub for innovation and talent, and this new campus reflects our long-term commitment to the state and the country.”
The new campus is more than just an office building; it is a “vertical city” designed with a focus on modern workplace dynamics and environmental responsibility.
The opening of this massive facility is part of Amazon’s broader “India 2030” vision. In late 2025, the company announced an additional investment of $35 billion in India, bringing its total planned investment in the country to $75 billion by the end of the decade.

With this new Bengaluru hub and its largest global campus already operational in Hyderabad, Amazon has solidified India’s position as its most critical base of operations outside the United States.
