Lenovo has officially announced the arrival of its latest flagship gaming laptop, the Legion 9i (18″, Gen 10), at their Tech World 2025 event in Shanghai. This powerhouse machine is engineered not only for hardcore gamers seeking ultimate performance but also for game developers, visual artists, and 3D professionals who demand uncompromising power and cutting-edge display technology.

The new Legion 9i boasts a stunning 18-inch PureSight display with incredibly slim bezels, achieving a remarkable 93% screen-to-body ratio. Gamers and creators alike will be captivated by the sharp visuals and vibrant colors, with the option of a 4K resolution at a smooth 240Hz refresh rate. Adding a groundbreaking dimension, Lenovo offers an optional 2K 3D display that utilizes eye-tracking and a lenticular lens array to deliver a glasses-free 3D experience. This innovative feature allows 3D modelers to visualize their work without the need for external displays or headsets.

Further enhancing the display’s versatility, the Legion 9i features a Dual Mode functionality. Users can seamlessly switch between the crisp 4K resolution at 240Hz for visually intensive tasks and a blazing-fast Full HD resolution at a 440Hz refresh rate when lightning-quick responsiveness is paramount in competitive gaming scenarios. Both display options support 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, up to VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification, Dolby Vision, and NVIDIA G-SYNC, ensuring a premium visual experience.

Under the hood, the Lenovo Legion 9i is armed with the latest and most powerful components. It features an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor and up to the formidable NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB of GDDR7 memory. This dynamic duo can deliver a combined total power of up to 280W, ensuring peak performance across the most demanding games and creative applications.

To keep these high-end components running optimally, Lenovo has implemented the Legion Coldfront: Vapor cooling system. This advanced thermal solution includes a vapor chamber, hyper chamber, and a quad-fan system with dedicated fans strategically placed over the Wi-Fi card, SSD, and RAM. Lenovo claims this sophisticated cooling design keeps the system running cool under heavy loads while maintaining noise levels below 48dB in Performance Mode.

The Legion 9i doesn’t compromise on memory and storage either. It features four RAM slots, supporting up to an impressive 192GB of dual-channel DDR5 memory, significantly speeding up rendering and multitasking. For storage, it offers four SSD slots, including one PCIe Gen 5 slot, allowing for a total capacity of up to 8TB. This provides ample space for extensive game libraries, large project files, and creative assets.

Designed with both gamers and developers in mind, the Legion 9i incorporates the Lenovo AI Core chip and AI Engine+. This intelligent system optimizes performance for various tasks, dynamically adjusting power distribution between the CPU and GPU for the best possible experience. The Lenovo Legion Space software further enhances the gaming experience by synchronizing RGB lighting with in-game audio. AI-powered tools like Game Coach and Game Clip Master are also included to help gamers improve their skills and easily create engaging content.

The laptop’s design is equally impressive. The top cover is constructed from eight layers of aviation-grade forged carbon fiber, making it exceptionally light and durable. The unique manufacturing process ensures that each laptop lid has a distinct, one-of-a-kind pattern.

Connectivity options are plentiful, including two cutting-edge Thunderbolt 5 ports, USB Type-C and Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader, an audio jack, and an Ethernet port. The laptop also supports the latest wireless standards with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.

Lenovo is also offering value-added services and accessories. The Legion 9i comes with a three-month subscription to PC Game Pass and Legion Ultimate Support for 24/7 assistance and next-day repairs. Additionally, Lenovo’s CO2 Offset Services allow users to offset the carbon emissions associated with their new device. Complementing the laptop is the new Legion 18” Armored Backpack II, featuring an EVA-molded front shield and dedicated compartments for secure and comfortable transportation.
