Audi has officially unveiled its latest all-electric SUV, the Q6 e-tron, marking a significant step in the brand’s transition towards a fully electric vehicle lineup by 2033. Positioned strategically between the Q4 e-tron and the Q8 e-tron, this new model embodies Audi’s commitment to luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market. Design and Platform The Audi Q6 e-tron is the first model to be built on the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, co-developed with Porsche, which also underpins the Porsche Macan EV. This advanced platform features an 800-volt electrical system, enabling high-power DC fast charging at up to 270 kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes under optimal conditions. The design language of the Q6 e-tron showcases a modern evolution of Audi’s signature SUV styling, characterized by a closed Singleframe grille, a distinctive split-headlight design, and Audi’s second-generation digital OLED taillight technology with customizable light signatures. Practicality and Features As a five-seater SUV, the Audi Q6 e-tron offers ample passenger and cargo space, with up to 1,529 liters (54.0 cubic feet) of storage with the rear seats folded down. A 64-liter (2.3 cubic feet) front trunk (frunk) adds further practicality for storing charging cables and smaller items. The Q6 e-tron comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including automated emergency braking, lane departure warning, and optional adaptive cruise control with lane-centering assist.
