The Staff Selection Commission (SSC GD) has officially released the dates for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) for the GD Constable recruitment 2025. This vital announcement, made by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in an official notification on July 29, 2025, marks a significant step for thousands of aspirants.

The PET and PST examinations are scheduled to take place from August 20, 2025, to September 11, 2025. These crucial tests will be conducted at various designated centers nationwide, and are exclusively for candidates who have successfully cleared the Computer Based Test (CBT).

Understanding the Physical Tests

The physical assessments are designed to ensure candidates meet the rigorous demands of serving in various forces.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

  • Male Candidates (General Areas): Must complete a 5-kilometer race within 24 minutes.
  • Female Candidates (General Areas): Are required to complete a 1.6-kilometer race in 8.5 minutes.
  • Relaxations: Candidates hailing from hilly and special areas will receive specific relaxations in both distance and time for the race.

Physical Standard Test (PST):

  • This segment focuses on the physical measurements of candidates.
  • For male candidates, measurements of height, weight, and chest will be meticulously checked.

Only those candidates who successfully qualify in both the PET and PST will be eligible to proceed to the subsequent stages of the recruitment process, which include document verification and a thorough medical examination.

Massive Recruitment Drive and Candidate Turnout

This extensive recruitment drive aims to fill a substantial total of 53,690 vacancies across various esteemed forces. These include the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and Assam Rifles.

A staggering 3.94 lakh candidates have been shortlisted to appear for the PET/PST, highlighting the immense interest and competition for these positions. This figure comprises approximately 3.53 lakh male candidates and over 40 thousand female candidates, all vying for a chance to serve the nation.

Admit Card Release and Download Process

Candidates are advised to regularly check the CRPF website for updates regarding their admit cards. The admit cards for the PET/PST are expected to be released on the official CRPF website approximately 10 days prior to the commencement of the examinations.

To download their SSC GD PET/PST Admit Card, candidates must follow a simple procedure:

  1. Visit the official SSC website.
  2. Navigate to the “Admit Card” section.
  3. Select their respective region.
  4. Click on the “SSC GD PET/PST Admit Card 2025” link.
  5. Enter their registration number, date of birth, and the provided captcha code.
  6. The admit card will then be displayed on the screen. Candidates must carefully verify all details before printing a copy for their records.

The admit card will serve as a crucial document, containing essential information such as the candidate’s name, roll number, registration number, date of birth, gender, examination name (SSC GD PET/PST), exam date and time, reporting time, exam center name and address, photograph, signature, important exam instructions, and specific physical standard (PET/PST) related information.
