Pune Techie Jumps From Office Building After Walking Out Of Meeting, Note Found

A 32-year-old tech professional allegedly jumped to his death from the 10th floor of his office building in Hinjewadi, Pune, on Tuesday afternoon, sending shockwaves through the prominent IT company’s premises and the surrounding area. Police have recovered a suicide note from the scene, which reportedly cites workplace stress and personal issues as the reasons for his extreme step.

According to information from the police, the deceased has been identified as Akash Wadhwa (32), who had been working as a software engineer at the said IT company for the past four years. Eyewitnesses reported that on Tuesday afternoon, around 2:30 PM, Akash walked out of an important meeting and headed directly towards the building’s terrace. Within minutes, he was seen jumping from the building, resulting in his immediate death.

Upon receiving the information, a team from Hinjewadi Police Station promptly arrived at the scene. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigation is underway. Police stated that a suicide note was found on the deceased. In the note, Akash reportedly wrote that he had been struggling with excessive work pressure and ongoing personal problems for some time, which led him to take this drastic step. The note does not hold any specific individual responsible for his death.

A company spokesperson expressed profound sorrow over the incident. “We are deeply shocked by this tragic event. Akash was a diligent and dedicated employee. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and are committed to providing them with all possible support during this difficult time,” the spokesperson said. The company also stated that they are fully cooperating with the police investigation.

This incident has once again brought to light the issue of mental health in the workplace, especially in the IT sector where professionals often face immense pressure. Many experts believe that companies need to provide more robust support systems and counselling programs for the mental well-being of their employees.

Police have informed Akash’s family, who are on their way to Pune. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing, and police are also examining other angles to determine if there were any additional reasons behind this tragic incident.
